There has been a major relaxation of the requirements for foreign tourists travelling across the three border states in North East India to get Restricted Area Permits (RAP) and Protected Area Permits (PAP). The North East Regional Director of the Union Ministry of Tourism has informed us of this. According to reports, in an effort to promote North East India as a travel destination, the restrictions on the issuing of RAP and PAP have been loosened.<\/p>\n

He continued by saying that any foreign visitor may now experience these states through scheduled tours, which have to be planned by a regional tour operator with headquarters in the state in question. All the preparations will be made by local tour operators, and there is very little chance of rejection for international visitors in these states.<\/p>\n

Oraw emphasised the significance of pre-applying for permits though. Additionally, the Indian government wants to increase employment prospects for locals by promoting tourism in border regions, especially those close to China and Myanmar borders.<\/p>\n

The goal of the relocation is to fully realise the potential of several thriving settlements, each with distinctive qualities of its own. For example, it is said that the first light of the sun ever touches Indian land at the Kibithu hamlet in Arunachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n

Oraw also emphasised the possibility of India and Vietnam working together in the travel industry. There is a significant surge of Indian visitors visiting Vietnam, despite the fact that there is now little travel from Vietnam to India.
